Two Presentations: Thoughts on what to include

1. Using video and wiki as interactive teaching tools.
• Overall goal: have teachers experience what it feels like to be taught with video, inspired with video, search for video, and express opinion about video so that they can see and experience how this affects students.
• pod casts
- creating a mood
- using humor: when's the last time you were asked to sit down for 6 hours a day
- stimulating thinking - multi sensory
- applying/practicing skills and methods
• You Tube and other video resources
-TED talks
-Google Video
-How To Sites
- Zamzar
2. Using social networking in the classroom.....along with a few other fun tools.
• Organization: we expect Encyclopedia, Table of Contents, organization
- Kids get the tags, keywords, search concept
• Skype: get classroom directions, stay in touch, send files, send URLs
-set privileges correctly
-set guidelines
• Delicious: mine is a "dump jungle" but the kids know how to go in, search and find things
